 TELLING THE TIME

 Berikut contoh menanyakan waktu dalam bahasa Inggris 

1. What time is it now? Jam berapa sekarang?

2. What time will the meeting begin? Jam berapa pertemuannya akan dimulai?

3. What time did you sleep last night? jam berapa kamu tidur tadi malam?

4. What time is the English lesson? Jam berapa Pelajaran bahasa inggrisnya?

5. What time do you eat breakfast? Jam berapa kamu sarapan?

 Bagaimana cara Menyebutkan waktu dalam bahasa Inggris

 preposition yang digunakan  : at 

 Menyebutkan menit dulu baru jam.

 menggunakan kata “To” jika waktu menununjukkan lebih dari 30 menit (menyebutkan menit kekurangannya menuju jam yang selanjutnya)

Contoh: 

1) 04.35 twenty five to five ( jam 5 kurang 25)

2) 03.45 fifteen to four (jam 4 kurang 15)

3) 05.47 thirteen to six (jam 4 kurang 15)

4) 08.52 eight to nine (jam 9 kurang 8)

5) 07.54 Six to eight (jam 8 kurang 6)

6) 09.55 Five to ten (jam 10 kurang 5)

 menggunakan kata “Past” jika waktu menununjukkan lebih dari 1  menit sampai 30 menit 

contoh: 

1) 07.13 thirteen past seven ( jam 7 lebih 13)

2) 10.30  thirty past ten ( jam 10 lebih 30)

3) 09.14 fourteen past nine ( jam 9 lebih 14)

4) 12.10 ten past twelve ( jam 12 lebih 10)

5) 06.25 twenty five past six ( jam 6 lebih 25)

6) 04.05 five past four ( jam 4 lebih 5)

Contoh dalam kalimat: 

1. I eat breakfast at six o’clock (06.00)

2. I go to school at  a half past six (06.30)

3. I go home at a quarter to three (02.45) in the evening 

Number yang digunakan untuk menyebutkan waktu “cardinal number”  atau nomer kartu. Berikut contoh cardinal number;
